for the Plus Magazine article entitled ‘Countdown 2000’

From Hags book ‘How Things Are’

‘The energy that we live with reflects how we act. Plus and minus, ying and yang, good and evil, happy and sad, love and hate. This is the tension that makes substance. It makes us exist. It’s not just black and white, we must rejoice in the grey scale. An uranium bomb only releases less than 1% of the energy it contains. the best we can achieve right now. An average human has enough energy to explode with the force of 30 hydrogen bombs. This is the tension we live with. Like the bird on a power cable, we survive blissfully in ignorance.’

The very top of this image Hag digitally flipped then removed the head and gun barrel to create the wrapped cover image for his book ‘How Things Are’

Plusmagazine illustration with the beginning  of the article it illustrated.

The next image Hag created was Fighting Spirit using a similar composition intending them to be a diptych.
